Have you wondered why some web sites have the coolest graphics
and interfaces? It's likely that you are looking at Flash based
sites, which are a combination of normal internet web site design
and media created using the Flash authoring tools from Macromedia.
When Archiform 3D took on website design seriously we decided
that we wanted to go to the top level of design features so went
straight into creating stunning flash based web sites. The techniques
are vastly different to normal HTML authoring, which means many
companies simply cant create a Flash based web site. Companies
lacking in Flash authoring skills will often try to run down the
advantages or try to implant a few myths so as to downplay their
inadequacies in this field.

- Flash sites can combine almost all forms of digital media.
- Flash can animate graphics, text and lines smoothly and effectively.
- Flash can deliver almost any look and feel that you desire.
Flash Web site Myths:
Myth: Flash files are large and increase download times.
Truth: Flash creates very small files yet because
it can contain vast amounts of graphical data it is possible to
make a large file. When compared to putting this data on a HTML
web page there is no difference in size, in fact flash presentations
may even be smaller! Flash presentations can also be design to
download in pieces and before the viewer even navigates to them,
so flash has the ability to exceed most HTML based presentations
is view speed and download times.
Myth: Flash is not compatible with all computers.
Truth: The Flash plug in has been pre-installed
on most computers for years, including Windows and Mac based systems.
If an update is required the the plug in is easily downloaded and
installed. The size of the plug in is tiny. It is highly unlikely
you will encounter a computer that isn't ready to run a Flash based
presentation right now.
Myth: Flash web sites can only be updated by
a specialist.
Truth: A Flash web site can be authored to be
dynamic and read all kinds of user definable text and graphics.
Archiform 3D's approach to Flash web sites
We believe that Flash deserves a strong presence in all our work,
because what we do is highly visual and there is a need for a simple,
elegant and effective navigation system. How Flash is used and
where it resides is also dictated by the type of web site, so a
strategy may consist of straight Flash files or a hybrid of Flash
and standard HTML coding.
Our own web site, for example, is a hybrid. We need attractive
visual graphics but we also need hard-core factual text based data
because our clients are business people that want straight, unfettered
information. Our Hybrid site delivers to the senses and the business
heads at the same time.
